Students of the university displayed their high abilities in the Pyongyang, Asian Local Contest for the 41st International Students’ Programming Contest and were awarded trophies and 4 diplomas.
Forty two selected teams from 28 universities including University of Sciences, Pyongyang University of Architecture and Pyongyang University of Computer Science took part in the competition held at Kim Il Sung University from Nov. 8 to 11, Juche105(2016). Four of the teams were from Kim Chaek University of Technology. The first of the four teams consisted of Mun So Min as a 5th grader of the Faculty of Automation Engineering, Pak Chol Jin as a 5th grader of the College of Information Science & Technology, Hong Chung Song as a 4th grader of the Faculty of Automation Engineering; the second Yu Jong, Ri Hyon U and Ri Chon Il as 4th graders of the College of Information Science & Technology; the third Kim Song Il, Ri Kuk Song and Pak Il Bom as 3rd graders of the Faculty of Automation Engineering; and the fourth Kim Tae Song as a 5th grader of the Faculty of Communications, Kim Won Guk as a 3rd grader of the Faculty of Management of Industrial Economy, Hwang Paek I as a 2nd grader of the Faculty of Automation Engineering. As a result, Mun So Min, Pak Chol Jin and Hong Chung Song of the 1st team won first place and were awarded a trophy and a gold prize, and Kim Song Il, Ri Kuk Song and Pak Il Bom of the 3rd team were awarded a gold prize. Students of the university were awarded a gold prize in the Shenyang, Asian Local Contest for the 40th International Students’ Programming Contest which was held from Oct. 24 to 25, Juche104(2015), and another gold prize in the Shanghai East Asian Finals for the 40th International Programming Competition held from Dec. 12 to 13, Juche104(2015), and won several rounds of the “Codeshef” Internet Programming Challengers’ Contest between Juche103(2014) and Juche105(2016).
