  • KUTIC70 aims to promote the international and interuniversity collaboration and exchange over new scientific ideas, methods, and achievements in various fields of science and technology.

  • All abstracts at KUTIC70 will be presented by oral or postal mode. There will be other events for scientific exchange.

  • English is the official language at KUTIC70, translation service is not available in principle. The English language is only to be used in all the events of KUTIC70, including abstracts, PowerPoint documents, exhibition posters, and publication of the proceedings.

  • Abstracts must be submitted by email with an attached file to the Scientific Committee, KUTIC70.

  • Abstracts submitted to KUTIC70 will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee for contents and scientific merits. Only accepted ones will be presented at the meeting. Authors will be notified of the review results by email at least 3 weeks before the conference. Abstracts will be listed on the conference website once they are accepted and notified of.

  • All the accepted abstracts will be published on the KUTIC70 proceedings, and put into the databases of KUT E-library and Sci-Tech Complex to be disseminated.

  • The participants will be provided with opportunities to visit scenic attractions (e.g. Mt. Myohyang and Mt. Kumgang) and landmarks (International Friendship Exhibition House and Mirae Scientists Street).

    Accommodations for all the participants will be arranged at the Pyongyang Koryo Hotel by the Organizing Committee.

  • The Organizing Committee will notify the participants of any inevitable changes in programme, time, and place well before the event.

  • The scope and extent of KUTIC70 are expected as follows:

    More than 150 oral presentations

    More than 50 poster exhibitions

After registration, the participants are required to send their abstracts made up according to the provided template through email to the Organizing Committee.

All delegates should submit their abstracts in either oral or poster presentation.

Abstracts should be prepared in MS-WORD document.

We kindly remind you that the deadline for abstract submission is June 15, 2018. Abstracts received after this date cannot be included in the printed conference proceedings. To be published in the KUTIC70 proceedings, at least one author of an accepted abstract is required to register and make a presentation at the conference.

An abstract should include the title, names of the authors and their affiliations (presenting author should be denoted with a superscript asterisk “*”), brief summary (up to 150 words), keywords (3-5words), and the abstract body.

The abstract body should include introduction, method, experiment results, discussion and conclusion, acknowledgements, and reference list. Figures and tables should be numbered with captions and embedded in the text(Do not upload individually).

Maximum word count of abstract title is 20 words.

Abstracts will be published exactly as submitted. Your abstract should not exceed 3 000 words with no more than three figures. The size of the abstract file should not exceed 10MB.

An abstract for poster presentation should not include figures or tables (Equations are possible) and not exceed 600 words(up to 1 page in A4 paper).

The file should be named as “1st author’s name_title of abstract_oral/poster.docx”. In principle, the maximum number of authors per abstract is five and a registered delegate may submit only one abstract as a first author(speaker/presenter).

Throughout the abstract, the Times New Roman font should be used. All the font sizes and styles should follow the given template in every part. The main text should be justified on both sides. It is not allowed to use footnotes, unnecessary blank, underline"_" and dot"." in abstract.

Abstracts should be written in English.

Authors who are not native English speakers may need to take particular care to ensure that their manuscripts are clear and grammatically correct. Then it is highly recommended that the abstract be checked by an English specialist before submission.

After the abstract submission deadline, the Organizing Committee of KUTIC70 will decide which abstracts to accept. Presentation mode(Oral or Poster) will be decided at the time of session scheduling. Authors’ preferred presentation mode is usually respected, though their demand could not always be met.

Abstracts selected for oral presentations will be listed on the conference website after they are accepted and the authors will be notified 3 weeks prior to the conference.

For your oral presentation you cannot use your own laptop and you should bring the PowerPoint file on a USB flash memory. The organizers will copy all the PPT files to the main projector computer. All presentations will be scanned for viruses and subsequently loaded on the main projector computer, so you are highly recommended to have an additional copy of your presentation in case of technical troubles.

If your PowerPoint file contains videos, please recheck their file format and linkage to the main file.

Please make sure that your presentation is well timed. Every speaker is allotted 15 minutes for the presentation and Q & A. (12 minutes for presentation, 3 minutes for Q & A and discussion)

Presentation with posters in the conference will provide an effective place for introducing research hits and meeting colleagues for future research works, as well as a chance for the most efficient and successful exchange activities.

All the accepted abstracts, except those for oral presentation, should be presented during the Poster Viewing Session. The abstracts of accepted posters will be listed in the conference program and published, too. You will be notified if your abstract has been accepted for poster presentation in the review by the Organizing Committee.

You will receive your poster number 2-3 weeks before the conference.

All accepted posters will be presented to the Programme Committee.

Presenters can hold discussions with those who are interested in your presentation.

Posters should be based upon original and ongoing research.

Regular poster size is 80cm(width) by 100cm(height), in portrait orientation.

  • - The presentation must cover the same material as the submitted abstract.

  • - Place your Abstract ID, Abstract Title and Authors’ Names prominently at the top of the poster so that viewers can find them easily.

  • - Presenter’s name must be underlined and in Bold lettering.

  • - You can place figures, tables, text, photos, etc. in the poster at your will to explain scientific information.

  • - You can give your email address and other address information when viewers are interested in contacting you for more information.

Poster presenters may use their own posters.

The Programme Committee serves hard-copying of posters for the convenience of presenters. If necessary, you should send your poster file (*.jpg) through email to the Programme Committee.(kgs6673@star-co.net.kp)

If you need to use a poster in a non-regular size owing to your abstract content, you should contact the Organizing Committee.(kut@star-co.net.kp)

You will display your poster on September 18-21, Juche107(2018). The Conference will provide one board for each poster.

The presenters are responsible for the poster installation and dismantlement after the conference.

Arrival in Pyongyang

The foreign participants can travel by train or plane in order to get Pyongyang. KUT is located in Kyogu-dong, Central District, Pyongyang. It is about 1km away from Pyongyang Railway Station, and about 25 km from the Pyongyang International Airport.

For participants who prefer travel by train, two routes are available: the first is the express from Beijing to Pyongyang via Sinuiju border station and the second is Vladivostok-Pyongyang Express, crossing the border at Dumangang station. After reaching Pyongyang Railway Station, you can enjoy reception service arranged by the Organizing Committee to get the reserved hotel or the conference venue.

Those who prefer to take plane can take a bus or car according to the reception service arranged by the Organizing Committee after landing at Pyongyang International Airport, to go to the reserved hotel or conference venue.(about 0.5 hour by car)

One or two of our conference volunteers will be standing near the exit of the railway station and airport terminal holding signs saying “KUTIC70”.

The Organizing Committee takes full responsibility for providing all the participants of KUTIC70 with transportation between the hotel and conference venue and places for visit. The bookings for preferred return flights or trains will be arranged as well.


On September 21 (Friday), participants will visit the International Friendship Exhibition House and Mt. Myohyang, a famous mountain in the DPRK.

Accompanying persons should catch the corresponding delegate.
