Mirae Scientists Street, erected on the bank of the picturesque Taedong River to demonstrate the feature of Juche architecture, is a gift the Workers’ Party of Korea gave to educators and scientists on the occasion of the 70th birthday of the Party.
The street where ordinary educators and scientists settled for happy living without paying even a penny is associated with the warm care of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un who gives the top and absolute priority to the promotion of the people’s well-being and respects educators and scientists as true patriots and revolutionaries devoting themselves to the prosperity of the country and to the education of rising generations.
In the residential area with 25-, 30-, 55-storeyed and skyscraping apartments forming a whole street on both sides of the road along the bank of the Taedong River, there are a nursery, a kindergarten and primary and secondary schools and all sorts of magnificent and splendid public catering establishments and cultural welfare facilities including a Mirae e-library.
Over 1 100 of over 2 000 flats are those for the educators and scientists of Kim Chaek University of Technology.
Every 4- or 5-room flat covering an area of 130 to 200-odd square metres is equipped with complete sets of high-quality furniture and kitchen utensils, and a lot of foreign visitors to such flats express their great envy and admiration referring to them as the best flats the kind of which cannot be possessed by any other celebrated university in the world.
