One January day in 2015, the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un visited the newly-built Ryugyong Mushroom Farm. After exchanging greetings with officials, he gazed at the smart farm for a while and highly appreciated their efforts for having built it in a splendid way. Looking round the control room, technical preparation room and other places of the farm with pleasure, he said repeatedly to the officials that the problem which should be solved in the cultivation of mushroom is to put the production processes on an automated and unmanned basis and that scientists and technicians should push back the frontiers with the high goal of leading the world in mushroom cultivation. We should produce a large quantity of mushrooms as instructed by President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il to turn ours into a country of mushroom, he said, adding that now that Pyongyang Municipality built a mushroom farm, it should ensure that the people enjoy substantial benefits from the farm.
