Achievements in National Sci-tech Festival
The 33rd National Festival of Science and Technology was held at the hall of new technology of the Three-Revolution Exhibition House from April 23 to May 4.
Kim Chaek University of Technology presented more than 30 proposals selected from its sci-tech festival last February.
The festival drew a special attention of lecturers, researchers and postgraduate students as it opened in this significant year that marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the DPRK and the university.
In the festival, two proposals including “Vacuum pressure impregnation process (VPI) by Pak Kil Hung, a department chief of the Electric Engineering Faculty, took the top place, 12 proposals including “Plasma-based environment improving technology” by Ri Thae Nam, a department chief of the Physical Engineering Faculty, won the first place and 11 proposals including “Several types of fractional non-linear chaos simulation systems” by Ro Won Myong, a department chief of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics, came second. Most of the proposals entered the rankings.
33rd Sci-tech Festival of Kim Chaek University of Technology held
The 33rd Sci-tech Festival of Kim Chaek University of Technology was held in its gym between February 20 and 23 Juche107(2018).
On display in the festival were more than 200 excellent sci-tech achievements and advanced and new technology products the university lecturers, researchers and post-graduates made in recent days in their efforts to put the national economy on a Juche and modern basis by relying on local effort, technology and resources while focusing on research into basic sciences and the development of cutting-edge science and technologies, including “Laser application to the footwear industry”, “Integrated production system of the Pyongyang Mushroom Farm” and “Foaming technique of plastic shoe soles by supercritical carbon dioxide”.
The festival was held in the form of presentation, exhibition and exchange of sci-tech achievements, divided into nine panels including machine-building industry and information technology.
In the team event, “Laser application to the footwear industry” and three others took the first place, followed by “Technology of improving the metal extraction rate by pH control” and two others, and “Air-cooling roll hearth-type rolling heating furnace” and four others.
In the individual event, Kim Myong Il, lecturer at the College of Mechanical Science and Technology, and 10 others took the first place, Kim Chol Min, department chief at the College of Information Science and Technology, and 11 others came second, and Kim In Sik, department chief at the Resources Exploration Engineering Faculty, and 24 others placed third.
In the new technology products section, Ra Ju Hyon, department chief at the Metal Engineering Faculty, and another one came first, Hwang Je Hyon, lecturer at the College of Mechanical Science and Technology, and three others finished runners-up, and Ri Sang Hun, section chief at the Materials Engineering Faculty, and three others came third.
The 9th National University-Level Scientific Achievement Exhibition
The 9th National University-Level Scientific Achievement Exhibition opened in the Sci-Tech Complex from Sep. 11 to 15, Juche106(2017).
The university presented at the exhibition 93 valuable proposals which they obtained while conducting active scientific research work, and 55 of them were highly appreciated.
In this exhibition, 13 persons including Choe Kuk Il, a department head, College of Mechanical Science and Technology, won 1st place, 16 including Ju Kyong Yop, a department head, College of Information Science and Technology, 2nd place and 23 including Hong Kun Ui, a department head, Faculty of Resources Probing Engineering, 3rd place.
National Nano-Technology Sci-Tech Exhibition 2017
The National Nano-Technology Sci-Tech Exhibition was held from Oct. 23 to 27, Juche106(2017) in the National Bureau of Nano Technology.
The university presented at the exhibition 23 valuable proposals which they achieved while conducting a vigorous campaign to surpass the cutting edge, and 10 of the presentations were highly appreciated.
In the exhibition, Ri Sang Hun, a section head of the Faculty of Material Engineering, and the other won 1st place, Ri Hye Suk, researcher in the Faculty of Electronic Engineering, and 4 others 2nd place and Han Kum Chol, researcher of the Nano Physics Institute, and two others 3rd place.
28th National IT Achievement Exhibition
The 28th National IT Achievement Exhibition was held in the Sci-Tech Complex from Nov. 7 to 13, Juche106(2017).
The university presented 80 valuable things for rapidly developing the branch of IT, one of the basic kernel technologies, and raising the software development of the country onto the world’s top level, which were highly appreciated. In this exhibition, Choe Myong Guk, teacher of the College of Mechanical Science and Technology, and 31 others won first place, Kim Hyong Chol, a department head of the Faculty of Shipbuilding and Ocean Engineering, and 25 others 2nd place and Ri Un Chol, teacher of the Faculty of Material Engineering, and 19 others 3rd place.
