The Online Faculty of the university was founded on Feb. 9, Juche99(2010) under the personal initiative and the wise leadership of Chairman Kim Jong Il, and started giving online education to students across the country.

The Online Faculty, a study-while-working system, enrolls 24 000 students. It has over 30 courses including machine-building, computer engineering, metallurgical engineering, control engineering, applied electronics, physical exploration and mining machines engineering. True to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un’s intention to make all the people well versed in science and technology, the faculty has done its online education on a high level. And its enrollment increases rapidly every year.

It has a well-organized group for developing not only the education-aiding system needed for implementing the educational curriculum and teaching but also the educational resources.
