The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un presented a benevolent birthday party to Prof. Dr. Ko Pyong Jun, a candidate academician, a researcher in ship theory and designing department of Ship and Ocean Engineering Faculty on the occasion of his 80th birthday.

He has been a teacher, head of the department and dean of Faculty of Ship and Ocean Engineering for nearly 58 years since he graduated from the university thanks to the benevolent love of our Party. He has explored 13 new subjects including "marine hydrodynamics" and authored 60 000 pages of textbooks, reference books and scientific papers about more than 40 kinds of books such as “Marine Dynamics”, thereby making a great contribution to strengthening the scientific foundation of the major and has trained tens of doctors and educational and scientific talents.

True to the Party’s idea of prioritizing science and technology, he completed the designing and manufacturing of the ships which can be used for rapids for the first time in our country and did the research work with success arising in different aspects of the national economy, thus giving a great pleasure on several occasions to the great leaders and the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

Highly appreciating his merits who had made a great success in education and scientific work, the great leaders and the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un gave him high official commendation including a watch bearing the august name of the President Kim Il Sung and the certificate of commendation of the great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il and invited him to the several congresses such as the Congress of Korean Intellectuals as a delegate and gave him the honor of having a photo taken with the great leaders.

Pressed by a lot of work during the leadership of our revolution, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, a great instructor and benevolent father of our scientists bestowed boundless affection and solicitude of presenting a birthday party to Dr. Ko Pyong Jun on the occasion of his 80th birthday.

Dr. Ko Pyong Jun and his family were so impressed with his benevolent birthday party given by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un that he made a burning resolution that he would devote all his wisdom and enthusiasm to an ongoing grand advance of self-reliance for bringing about a revolutionary upsurge on all fronts of socialist construction.
