The 33rd Sci-tech Festival of Kim Chaek University of Technology was held in its gym between February 20 and 23 Juche107(2018).
On display in the festival were more than 200 excellent sci-tech achievements and advanced and new technology products the university lecturers, researchers and post-graduates made in recent days in their efforts to put the national economy on a Juche and modern basis by relying on local effort, technology and resources while focusing on research into basic sciences and the development of cutting-edge science and technologies, including “Laser application to the footwear industry”, “Integrated production system of the Pyongyang Mushroom Farm” and “Foaming technique of plastic shoe soles by supercritical carbon dioxide”.
The festival was held in the form of presentation, exhibition and exchange of sci-tech achievements, divided into nine panels including machine-building industry and information technology.
In the team event, “Laser application to the footwear industry” and three others took the first place, followed by “Technology of improving the metal extraction rate by pH control” and two others, and “Air-cooling roll hearth-type rolling heating furnace” and four others.
In the individual event, Kim Myong Il, lecturer at the College of Mechanical Science and Technology, and 10 others took the first place, Kim Chol Min, department chief at the College of Information Science and Technology, and 11 others came second, and Kim In Sik, department chief at the Resources Exploration Engineering Faculty, and 24 others placed third.
In the new technology products section, Ra Ju Hyon, department chief at the Metal Engineering Faculty, and another one came first, Hwang Je Hyon, lecturer at the College of Mechanical Science and Technology, and three others finished runners-up, and Ri Sang Hun, section chief at the Materials Engineering Faculty, and three others came third.
