In hearty response to the historic new year address of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un for opening up a new road of advance for socialist construction under the uplifted banner of self-reliance, the scientists at the university have waged a dynamic scientific research from the very first day of the new year, full of confidence to make a breakthrough for the economic construction and the improvement of people’s living standard.

On thorough analysis of the trend of thermal power development in the world Yom Dae Son, department head of the Faculty of Thermal Engineering, Ri Yong Ho, section chief, and other scientists solved a lot of technological problems of key importance, thus providing the reliable guarantee for the stability of the country’s electric power system: they designed and introduced a large-scale distributed control system, a system of monitoring and analyzing the fire chamber by a flame camera and a control computer and control system of the process of vacuum adsorption oxygen separation, and they realized oiless ignition of a boiler by combustion control of an oxygen igniter and combustion stabilization by the control of negative pressure in the fire chamber and blast volume.

Son Chang Il and Yun Jin Hyok, lecturers of the Faculty of Electronic Engineering completed the conversion device and program for the realization of electrocardiogram digitalization of our own style while they developed an inner-hospital central system of monitoring serious cases thereby opening up prospects for further perfecting the information system of hospitals that had already been established.

Hong Gwang Myong and Jang Hae Ryong, lecturers of Materials Engineering Faculty, rushed to Pyongyang Textile Machine Factory from the beginning of the year and succeeded in manufacturing built-up milling tools urgently needed for machining work in creative cooperation with the technical officials and working class of the factory.

The research group finished the design of tools for precisely processing brittle and precise material, thereby making a breakthrough in tool manufacture.

At the moment they are actively supporting the working class and technical staff in terms of science and technology who are trying to put the quality of newly manufactured tools on a higher level and increase its production.

In addition, a great number of scientists at the university, with a new goal of technological development, are in the dynamic campaign to accelerate the production and technology development and enlarge intellectual creativity in close collaboration with factories and enterprises.
