Respiratory Capacity Measuring Device Developed

The research group led by Rim Jong Ho, department head of Faculty of Biology and Medicine Engineering, have developed a computer-combined respiratory capacity measuring device and are working to further improve its efficiency.

By strenuous efforts they chose a convenient-to-use measuring method and designed the structure uniquely. Besides they managed to find out reasonable constant values that are suitable for the physical features of the children in our country and for making correct judgment of their physiological functions. Then they combined the device and a computer so that the measuring process can be monitored in real-time.

Thus, they were able to obtain respiration curves through the flow measurement of the respiratory process of human body and on the basis of this they determined tens of test indexes for respiratory capacity that can accurately assess the functions of lungs such as maximum expiratory capacity, one-round breathing capacity and maximum inspiratory capacity, thereby ensuring scientific diagnosis of respiratory diseases thoroughly relying on domestic equipment.

Since introduced in a hospital it has gained public favor for its convenience. It’s also being applied to education practice of several major subjects like “Biomedical information Processing”, “Digital Signal Processing”, “Neural Network” and so on.

The Exhibition of Educational & Scientific Achievements was held in the Indoor-stadium of Kim Chaek University of Technology from Sep.26 to Sep.30.

The entire lecturers and students of the university have made brilliant achievements in the scientific research to promote the university educational work and the economic development of the country for a year, bearing in mind the great trust of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who visited the university celebrating its 70th anniversary and highly appreciated as the eldest son university.

In the exhibition, the textbooks, reference books and education-aid programs and state-of-the art experimental equipments were highlighted, which reflect the world trend of the educational development and educational requirements.

In the exhibition, the scientific research achievements such as the combustion stabilization technology of the pulverized coal boiler in the thermal power station, daylighting system by the solar light induced equipment, unmanned plane for fire protection guiding System, whole direction autoguided vehicle, hologram fan, power generation system using rice hull gas were highly estimated to be practical and of great economic significance.

Sport and amusement games played

Sports competitions and entertainment games of the teaching staff and students were held from Sep.16 to 27 in the gym and playground of the university on the occasion of the 1st anniversary of giving on-the-field guidance to Kim Chaek University of Technology of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un and the 71st founding anniversary of our university.

Through some competitions and games such as health Taekwondo, popular rhythmic gymnastics, tug of war, football, volleyball, basketball and table tennis, the teaching staff and students fully demonstrated the high techniques, spirit of collectivism and ennobling moral traits they had cultivated by taking an active part in mass sports in the last times.

Not only so impressive were the games which were demonstrating the unity of the collective and showing the combative spirit, quick and skillful activities and thrilling goals continuously but so cheerful was the enthusiasm of cheering the athletes of the teaching staff and students in a crazy way that made the sports and games more competitive.

The Faculty of Industrial Economic Management took part in the final game after winning all opponent units from qualifying to semi-final games and won the first place in the football game.

The Faculty of Materials Science and Technology won the 1st place in the basketball game, the Faculty of Mechanical Science and Technology in the volleyball and table-tennis games, the Faculty of Information Science and Technology in the tug of war and the Distance Faculty in tennis and badminton games.

Through the competitions and games, the teaching staff and students fully demonstrated their burning enthusiasm and will that they are going to make a great contribution to the building of the powerful socialist country with greater successes in education and science and technology by improving their physical fitness.

Performance Given by Art Group

Marking the 1st anniversary of on-the-spot guidance to Kim Chaek University of Technology by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, the performance "Song of Yearning" was given by the art group at the University Indoor-stadium, on Sep. 27.

The executive officials of the university sat together with staff members and students.

The performance which began with the chorus "We’ve Wanted to See You" ardently depicted their earnest longing for the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, who added luster to dignity and mettle of the powerful state all over the world and visited the university celebrating its 70th anniversary, entrusted them to support the party and revolution with science and technology. And on the day of the election of deputies to the 14th Supreme People’s Assembly, he visited the university again and gave a pep-talk to fulfill their responsibility and obligation as the locomotive to lead the economic construction and the eldest son most trusted by the party.

The performers made an epical depiction of the romantic and happy life of the staff members and students, who enjoy the most proud and joyful life, holding in high esteem the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, the great mentor of the educationists and scientists and benevolent father.

And they also demonstrated the unanimous zeal and spirit of the staff members and students to fulfill their mission as the locomotive and the eldest son of the country in invigorating the economy and in making a breakthrough for bettering the standard of the people’s living and in developing science and technology in leaps and bounds.

The performance closed with the choral poem and chorus "Oh, We Miss You, Dear Marshal" heating high with the pledge of loyalty of the staff members and students to demonstrate their spirits to the full as the eldest son university trusted and proudly held up most by our party on the grandiose march of self-reliance for a new upsurge in the socialist construction by whole-heartedly upholding the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un whatever tempests they may encounter.
