With the Paternal Affection

Upholding the historic New Year’s address of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un for turning the whole society into a great, harmonious family, the number of laudable deeds are increasing day by day among students of KUT.

On April 6th, Choe Ji Song and Han Chong Ryong, students of the 3rd grade of the Faculty of Communications, discovered a 3-year-old child lying unconscious due to his carelessness near an apartment building in Mangyongdae District, Pyongyang.

They took the child straight to the hospital to save him form the jaws of death by giving him treatment in time.

Having done their best to recover the child’s health, they just left the hospital, not leaving their names but only the inspiring words.

This laudable deed became well-known after the letter came the Party Committee of KUT from doctors and the child’s parents, saying “They must be the students at Kim Chaek University of Technology for having its badges. We want you to find them and give wide publicity of their laudable deed.”

Visit to Mangyongdae

The teaching staff and students of Kim Chaek University of Technology visited the birthplace of President Kim Il Sung at Mangyongdae on April 23 to mark the Day of the Sun.

First they lay bouquets of flowers before the tombs of Kim Po Hyong, the President’s grandfather, Ri Po Ik, his grandmother, Kim Hyong Jik, his father and Kang Pan Sok, his mother and observed a moment’s silence in humble reverence.

Then with the ardent yearning for the President, the savior of national restoration and the father of the socialist Korea, they looked round Mangyongdae revolutionary museum.

Looking at historic relics and data preserved with great care, they thought of the precious life of the President who devoted his all to the nation and people, with his brilliant ideological and theoretical intelligence, outstanding leadership activity and lofty virtue. They also remembered his revolutionary family members who succeeded to revolutionary and patriotic lineage generation after generation.

They stepped into the yard of the old home at Mangyongdae where the President was born and grew up to be a great revolutionary and looked with great impression at historic relics that showed revolutionary lifetime of him and his family members and their lofty virtue.

Sports and Games Celebrating the Day of the Sun

Marking the greatest national holiday, various sports and pastime games of the teaching staff and students were held in the university gym and playground.

Among all other exciting events the volleyball final of the teaching staff in the gym and football final of the students from the College of Mechanical Science and Technology and the Faculty of Metallurgical Engineering particularly highlighted the atmosphere.

All the players in the relay race and tug-of-war and other games demonstrated their high skills which were normally practiced, while the spectators raised the level of cheering passion, which further stimulated the players’ competitive spirit.

In the competition the College of Information Science and Technology took the first place, the College of Mechanical Science and Technology came second and the Faculty of Metallurgical Engineering came third.

Performance Held to Celebrate Day of the Sun

On the occasion of the Day of the Sun, the most auspicious national holiday, celebration performance of the teaching staff and students was staged on Apr.13.

It started with chorus Let’s Sing of the Day of the Sun amidst the boundless reverence to the great President Kim Il Sung, father of socialist Korea and the sun of mankind, meandering inside the hall.

Female vocal 5 ensemble, an immortal classic work Nostalgia, chorus, an immortal classic work Song of Anti-Japanese War and male chorus Song of Loyalty, sincerely sang the President who accomplished immortal achievements and precious revolutionary life for the nation and revolution, the era and history for a long time with his prominent idea and leadership since he set out on the road of revolution at his young age

Dialogic poem President and Kim Chaek University of Technology, female vocal five ensemble There is No Man in the World who is Equal to President Kim Il Sung and chorus Ode to Marshal Kim Il Sung depicting the earnest yearning for the President who had always attached importance to Kim Chaek University of Technology and illuminated its bright future, touched heartstrings of the audience hard.

Chorusing the song Glory to General Kim Jong Un showing the iron will of the teaching staff and students to invariably trust and follow the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un only, who is exalting the dignity of our country in the eyes of the world holding high the lofty idea of the great leaders, the whole audience made firm resolutions to glorify this year with brilliant successes in the education and science.

Players of Kim Chaek University of Technology took the first place in women’s volleyball (youth grade) at Paektusan Prize Games in celebration of the Day of the Shining Star held in the volleyball gymnasium in Chongchun street from Feb 18 to 27.

Seven teams including KUT team took part in this game. Coach Jong Sun Jong devoted her all to winning the victory by defeating all teams with scientific game strategy and tactics.

All players including Ri Hye Song, Ju Hye Song, O Yun Ju, Min Kyong I, Kim Su Jong and Pak Yu Jong etc, collaborated each other and gave full play to their team’s tactics, thus taking the first place defeating the rival by 3 to 2 in the final.

On the occasion of the Day of the Shining Star, the biggest and most auspicious national holiday, was given a celebration artistic performance by the staff and students in the University Indoor Stadium on Feb. 15th.

The performance which started with a poem and chorus Glory to the General was given amidst the atmosphere of boundless high respect for Chairman Kim Jong Il, who had opened up the new era of national prosperity with his outstanding and seasoned leadership and guaranteed the ever-lasting future of Juche Korea.

Appreciating a female chorus February Is Spring, an oungum duet The fog creeps Jong Il Peak and a dialogic poem Patriotic Devotion and the like, all audience looked back upon the immortal exploits of Chairman Kim Jong Il who added glory to the dignity and honor of Kim Il Sung Korea working very hard day and night through thick and thin for the fatherland and people under the uplifted red flag of revolution all his life since he was born in the secret camp on Mt. Paektu and spent his childhood with guns.

A composite chorus and pangchang Our National Flag, a witty talk Blessing, a women’s vocal five Best Is His Embrace and a female solo Our Dear Marshal highly praised that our people are filled with the great national pride and self-confidence that we have been blessing with the great leader and the general from generation to generation as we have in high esteem the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un who is trying to realize the ennobling patriotic desire and the idea of the powerful nation of the great leaders and also all things that the peerless great men wished are being translated into reality by him on this land.

Paektu, all audience made a firm resolution to make a brilliant educational and scientific success in the revolutionary grand advance forward of this year which will be written in the great history of the fatherland through our diligent and worthwhile labor, cherishing in their minds the principle of our state first as an element of their faith under the leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.
