National Departmental Scientific Symposium was held on Sep. 20 to 21 at Kim Chaek University of Technology in commemoration of the 70th Founding Anniversary of Kim Chaek University of Technology.

The opening ceremony for the symposium was held in the university indoor-stadium on Sep.20.

Present there were Choi Dong Myong, chief of department of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Kim Sung Du, chairman of the Education Commission, Tae Hyong Chol, Present of Kim Il Sung University and Minister of the Ministry of Higher Education, Hong So Hon, president of Kim Chaek University of Technology, together with professors, lecturers, researchers, scientists, technicians.

The symposium was held, divided into sections of ideology and theory, history, industrial and economic management, machine engineering, mechanics and fluid and aeronautical engineering, information processing, information security, computer system, geological prospecting, geological engineering, mining and extractive engineering, metal engineering, metal material, thermal engineering, shipbuilding engineering, electrical engineering, electronic element and electronic material, applied electronics, automation engineering, information communication, dynamics, basic mathematics, applied mathematics, applied physics, basic chemistry, applied chemistry, nano technology, critical science and foreign language, etc.

Presented here were over 1 000 papers of social and natural sciences from 70 universities and scientific research institutes including Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology, University of Natural Science, Kim Hyong Jik University of Education and State Academy of Science.

Presenters in the sections of social sciences decisively explained and demonstrated the originality, justness, vitality and the immortal revolutionary feats of President Kim Il Sung, Chairman Kim Jong Il and the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

In departmental symposiums of natural sciences, several papers of great value including “Influences of Solvent Polarization and Ion Size over Interrelation of Charged Electrodes in Nanometer Range in Electrolyte”, “Axle floor-type design and operation of the high-speed rolling heating furnace”, “Exploits in Developing Advanced Electrical Resistivity Tomography instrument” were highly appreciated.

The symposium was closed in the culture hall of the university on Sep. 21.

In the closing ceremony, documents of presentation and memorial collections of papers were presented to those on the high ranking, together with the prize. Twenty excellent units were awarded letters of commendations and cups.
