Amid Blessings of Love

On June 6, 1946, a joint meeting of the children’s union organizations of Pyongyang City to form the Korean Children’s Union was held in Pyongyang. Before all the pressing affairs for the construction of a new country, President Kim Il Sung attended the meeting in person. Warmly waving back to the thunderous cheers of the schoolchildren, the President expressed his expectation that all of them would grow up to be the pillars of the future and bring this new Korea into full bloom, bearing in mind the great pride in having their own country. Then, he wished that befitting the treasures of new Korea and masters of new Korea, they all would grow up healthily and learn enthusiastically to become heroes to build their new democratic country. The President repeated the expression “new Korea” several times in his few remarks of blessing, which was full of great expectation and conviction. As though he was picturing the new history of our nation where children’s union members would become the masters of the future, the President, wearing a broad smile on his face, cast his eyes with great trust on the schoolchildren present at the meeting. Amid such blessings of love by the President, the Korean Children’s Union, political organization of children in our country, was founded the year after liberation.

Refurnished Lounge

In October, 2014, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited Pyongyang Orphanage and Pyongyang Baby Home, which were newly built on a scenic bank of the Taedong River. Feasting his eyes on the panoramic view of the picturesque orphanage and baby home, he said that such fine homes for children would be found nowhere in the world, expressing great pleasure over and over again. He first headed towards the baby home, where he showed great care. He saw to it that the floor of the entrance hall was covered with rubber plates lest naughty children should slip over while running around, and that the LCD TV set in the playroom was moved to the center of the front wall. Then, he stepped into the lounge, which was prepared for the meeting of children and adults including the parents of triplets. Looking round the lounge with chairs around a table, he explained to the officials accompanying him that the arrangement of the chairs and the table was not convenient for parents and their children. Then, he warmly instructed that sofas be put on both sides of the room so that parents and their children could talk closely seated with each other. Thanks to the meticulous care of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, the lounge was refurnished to provide parents and children with friendly environment.

Regarding it as More Important Factory

In April, 2016, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the newly-built Mindulle Notebook Factory. Making a round of different places of the factory, he said that it is our Party’s treasure factory that exclusively produces notebooks for our children and school children, expressing great satisfaction with providing domestically produced notebooks to the younger generations. At the bookbinding shop which was full of notebook paper, he repeatedly expressed great satisfaction, saying that the piles of notebooks deserve to be called notebook bomb. Before leaving the factory, he told the officials that the notebooks produced in the factory would mirror the future of our country, and powerful future Korea belongs to our children who are growing up into the pillars of the country using the notebooks from the factory, adding that in that sense, Mindulle Notebook Factory is more important than those producing nuclear bombs.

To Make Children Value Their Own Things

In April, 2016, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un gave a field guidance to the newly-built Mindulle Notebook Factory to learn in detail about notebook production. He said that providing our children and school children with good-quality notebooks is of great significance even in instilling into them patriotism of valuing and loving our things. He continued that naming our own things should always be associated with patriotism and national flavor, and that when “Mindulle”-branded notebooks are produced, the bags, school uniforms and notebooks are all domestically supplied, adding that it will make them understand from childhood that ours is the best. Picturing the bright and cheerful looks of our children on their way to school with “Sonamu”-branded schoolbags on their backs containing “Mindulle”-branded notebooks and “Haebaragi”-branded school things, the officials were convinced that our children and school children will grow up into reliable pillars of socialist Korea, who are patriotic as well as knowledgeable, morally sound and physically strong, under the warm care of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

Repeated Journey to Summit of Ski Slope

One day in May, 2013, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the construction site of Masikryong Ski Resort. After learning about the progress of the construction project, he reached the summit of the ski slope, regardless of the dissuasion of the officials worrying about the dangerous road conditions. Every time he was turning one hundred and tens of risky mountain bends one by one, the officials felt tense with great anxiety. It was not the only dangerous moment. On December 30 that year, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the completed ski resort. Saying that he should take the first ride on the cable car to be used by our people, he reached the precipitous summit in a cable car without any safety measures to learn about its security and convenience. Lighting Becomes Bright

One evening in May, 1978, Chairman Kim Jong Il was passing the fountain park of the Mansudae Art Theatre, when suddenly he called a halt to his car and looked at the park for a long while. Then, he asked the officials accompanying him if they thought the park was bright enough. They could not answer immediately, only looking at each other, for there were already several chandeliers in the park and color lights were illuminating the fountains, making a good harmony of colors in the pond. Looking round the officials for a while, the Chairman said the present lighting is not bright enough for taking photographs at night. Saying that people would be so happy with brighter lighting for them to enjoy themselves having their photos taken even at night, he warmly instructed that the park should be well equipped lest there should be any slightest convenience for the people. Proposing that the lighting of the park be replaced with floodlights as bright as those of stadiums, he personally named even the number and capacity of floodlights needed. This is how the lighting of the park became bright.
