Story of Coming Back

One night after midnight, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited a unit of the Korean People’s Army. He took hours to give valuable instructions concerning the work of the unit. Then, tenderly looking at a female official of the unit, he highly praised her as being a woman of merit who had given delight to President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il. When leaving, he wished her good health and more successes in her work for long. Some time later, his car was coming back again. She couldn’t believe her eyes. Saying to the confused official that he returned because he felt uneasy about not having a photo taken, he had a photo taken with her. She felt tears swelling up in her eyes.

Teaching in Detail

One spring day Chairman Kim Jong Il visited the park of Mangyongdae Schoolchildren’s Palace (then) for memorial tree-planting. Lest the Chairman, who was always busy with the state affairs, should waste much time planting a tree, the officials placed a sapling in a prepared pit and heaped soft earth up around it. At this sight, the Chairman taught them that it is not a real tree-planting and only when you dig a pit and plant a sapling yourself, can it be worthwhile and significant. Then, he called upon all the officials there to plant trees with spades in their hands together with the students and the members of the Speed Campaign Youth Shock Brigade, recalling that when he was on Rungna Islet for tree-planting with President Kim Il Sung, he personally dug a pit and carried saplings with a pole on his shoulders. Noting that they should plant, with great care, even a single tree so that it could grow well, the Chairman corrected the wrong position of a young tree. And he taught in detail how to plant a tree, stressing the need to carefully cover the roots with earth to protect them before giving water.

Historic Significance Elucidated by the Chairman

Chairman Kim Jong Il was conducting the revolutionary activities at Kim Il Sung University when one day in February, Juche 51 (1962), he shared with his fellow students comments on the Chongsan-ri spirit and Chongsan-ri method. Until then, nobody had been aware of the historic significance of the Chongsan-ri spirit and Chongsan-ri method created by President Kim Il Sung although there was nobody who did not fully realize its greatness. Enumerating for hours the circumstances of creation of the Chongsan-ri spirit and Chongsan-ri method, its main requirements and vitality and the limitations of the previous theories on leadership methods, the Chairman stressed that the issue of leadership methods was perfectly settled when the President created the Chongsan-ri spirit and Chongsan-ri method. The instruction of the Chairman which was full of boundless admiration for the immortal exploits of the President, who most perfectly solved the problem of a working-class party’s idea of leading the masses and method of guiding the masses for the very first time in the history of mankind, elucidated the great historic significance of creation of the Chongsan-ri spirit and Chongsan-ri method in accomplishing the cause of independence of the masses.

Autograph Order Delivered to “Young Bridegroom”

In the liberated fatherland, there was a young man who had the honor of serving the army near President Kim Il Sung. One day in November, Juche 38(1949), when he rushed to the President, called by him, he found some fellow soldiers around the President. To everyone’s surprise, the President told them with a friendly glance that he was going to grant leave of absence to them, newly-wed ones. With a great surprise, the young man glanced at the fellows next to him. As it happened, it turned out that they were all newly-weds. The man wondered how the President knew that he had got married. He blushed to the roots of his hair. Actually he had kept it as a top secret for over a year after joining the army lest his fellows should make fun of him as “a young bridegroom”. He could never figure out how it was known. He could not know that the President had happened to notice a letter to his wife between the leaves of one of his books at the time of checking them. That day the President, distributing thick envelopes to every one of them, emphasized that they should be opened only after the train left. Then, the President warmly asked the young soldier to tell his wife to bring up their child to become the pillar of the country. He felt choked so much that he could not say a word of thanks to the President. When he opened the envelope kept in his bosom with great care as soon as the train left, he found an autograph order of the President enclosed with some money. The autograph order was to buy liquor, tobacco and a pouch and a pipe with some of the money before entering the house, to spend the rest on some clothes for grandfather, grandmother and mother, and to report on its execution to him when coming back. At last he could not help shedding tears onto his hands with the envelope.

Braving the Rough Seas

One day in March, Juche 101(2012), the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un made a visit through the wild waves to Cho Island. Being greeted by the commanding officers, he shook hands with them before he said warmly that he wanted to meet the sentries on the island reliably defending the westernmost post. Wondering if the barracks were heated properly, he felt of the floor and told the commanding officers that they should take deep care of the heating supply so that the soldiers could eat and sleep in warm rooms in winter. Following the route Chairman Kim Jong Il had trodden, he affectionately saw over the lives of the soldiers with the same love as the Chairman’s, and with the strategies and tactics of the Chairman he clarified all the issues arising in the consolidation of combat preparedness. He had a photo session embracing in his broad bosom all the soldiers and military personnel on the island who had been intensely longing for him. Even when he mounted the ship, he looked back time and time again at the soldiers and the military personnel with tear-stained faces reluctant to part from him and said he could still see some groups of soldiers, island personnel and children shouting long live on the quay and on the mountain peaks. He suggested everybody wave back until they got out of sight and he himself waved back to them for a long while.

Greatest Pleasure

In January, Juche 104 (2015), the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited the newly built Pyongyang Mushroom Farm (then). Enjoying the panoramic view of the farm, he said with affection that a glance at its exterior alone could stir a sudden impulse to drop in. Having looked all around the farm, he was very pleased to see a wonderful structure for people at the beginning of the new year. Then, he wore a broad smile on his face, saying that he wanted every day in the year to be a happy day like that. Our people’s growing happiness, this is just the greatest pleasure of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.
