Report meeting was held in commemoration of the 70th founding anniversary of Kim Chaek University of Technology on Sep.26 in the People’s Palace of Culture.
Present there were Pak Tae Song, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Ro Tu Chol, vice-premier of the Cabinet and chairman of the National Planning Committee, Kim Nong O, chairman of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the WPK, officials from education, science and other fields related and the staff and students and graduates of KUT.
The congratulatory message of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea to the staff and student of KUT was delivered by Pak Tae Song.
The message warmly congratulated the staff and students of KUT celebrating the 70th founding anniversary amid the circumstances when the entire people across the country are making a general offensive in the grandiose march for the economic construction with a high pride of having demonstrated to the whole world the dignity and mettle of our Republic.
It stressed that Kim Chaek University of Technology was born and developed by the far-reaching idea and warm care of the great Leader and the great General and is the supreme palace for scientific and technological education in our country and also a meritorious university that has made a great contribution to realizing the national economy Juche-oriented, modern, IT-based and scientific.
It mentioned that the 70 years’ history of the Kim Chaek University of Technology is marked with brilliant exploits of having brought up competent core elements of science and technology as directed by the lines and policies of our party and having made a great contribution to the building of economic power and improving peoples’ livelihood.
It emphasized that the lecturers and officials of the university made the educational content practical, generalized and modernized on a high level based on the achievements of up-to-date science and technology, improved the heuristic teaching methods, thus succeeding in making the students creative talents with high faculty of inquiry and application.
It stressed that the scientific research groups of the university successfully solved urgent scientific and technological problems such as the high temperature air combustion technology and the integrated production system of the acryl acid synthetic process in the main fronts for building the economic power and made a contribution to building modern, model and standard factories and enhancing the independence and Juche-character of the national economy.
It mentioned that the university increased the ranks of the class of top-honor students and the class of the winners of the student scientific research prize through the studying emulation by faculties and by classes, upholding the studying is the first slogan and gave full play to its ability in the International Internet Programming Contests , National Students Contests and Exhibitions.
The Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea highly appreciated the entire lecturers and staff members of the Kim Chaek University of Technology who devote all to the educational and scientific research work, overcoming all difficulties and bottlenecks, bearing in mind high sense of responsibility for the prosperity of the fatherland and the future and the students who are preparing themselves into talents who will shoulder the bright future of the economic power.
The reporter and discussants expressed their glory of having received the congratulatory message in commemoration of the 70th anniversary and made their determination to add luster to the immortal exploits of the peerless celebrities who scored for the development of the university.
They unanimously emphasized that all the personnels, lecturers and staff members and students of the university should make new leaps and innovations in their efforts for bringing up large ranks of scientific and technological talents and for obtaining the spearhead fortress of science with a firm conviction and optimism in the brilliant future of socialist power.

Celebration performance on the 70th founding anniversary of the Kim Chaek University of Technology was given by the KUT staff and students on Sep. 26 in the Peoples’ Palace of Culture.

The performers expressed in the excited tone the boundless gratitude and reverence of all the staff, students and graduates of KUT to the respected Comrade
The audiences were moved to tears by chorus O Party, My Mother and female chorus Best is his Embrace as they showed the blessed life and pride of the staff enjoying all blessings under the warm love and benevolent affection of the respected Comrade
Male chorus with magic Push back the Frontiers of Science, poem and chorus Cheers of the People and Song of Kim Chaek University of Technology firmly demonstrated the promising future of Juche Korea breaking through the cutting edge by dint of science and leaping forward towards the scientific and technological power, and the unanimous enthusiasm and mettle of all the staff and students willing to be pioneers and leaders leading the campaign for increased production and onrush to accomplish the 5-year strategic goal for development of the national economy.
The performance ended with the poetry reading and chorus We will go to Mt. Paektu fully demonstrating the iron-willed belief and will to complete without fail the Juche pioneered revolutionary cause oriented from Mt. Paektu under the wise leadership of the respected Comrade

National students’ programming contest on the 70th founding anniversary of Kim Chaek University of Technology was held in the KUT e-library between Sep. 21 and 25, drawing over 200 students in 68 groups selected from 60-odd universities and colleges throughout the country including
Problems requiring the high ability of programming and algorithm design, ample knowledge in various fields such as mathematics and computing were presented. Students participated in the contest fully demonstrated their scientific ability studying to their hearts content in the socialist education system and preparing themselves as the pillar shouldering the information science of the country.

International Conference on the 70th Founding anniversary of Kim Chaek University of Technology was held on Sep. 19 and 20.
More than 130 academic presentations of great value substantially conducive to the development of science and technology and social progress of mankind have been made in this conference held on the theme of “integration of education, scientific research and production”.
The opening ceremony was on in the Sci-tech Complex on Sep. 19. Present there were Kim Sung Du, chairman of the Education Commission, Hong So Hon, president of Kim Chaek University of Technology, officials, professors, researchers and postgraduates of the university, delegations and delegates from different universities, research institutes and organizations from several foreign countries including Kiril Golokvast, vice-president of Far East Federal University, Wang Xun Lian, vice-president of China University of Geology, compatriot scientists overseas and the delegation of Korean University, Chongryon.
Hong So Hon, president of Kim Chaek University of Technology delivered the opening address. He expressed his gratitude to the foreign scholars, scientists from different universities and scientific research institutions of the world and Korean scientists living abroad.
He said the participants would have profound discussions on scientific and technological successes and experiences and activate exchange and cooperation that could contribute to the development of science and education, which is the basis of state building and an important criterion for determining the strength of a nation.
Expressing his expectation for this conference to mark a significant turn in further developing exchange between KUT and many foreign educational and scientific research institutions, he declared the opening of the conference.

The International Conference was held in the E-library of Kim Chaek University of Technology(KUT) in 6 separate sections. They were Geoscience & Mining, Metal and Material engineering, Machinery and Energy, Information communication and Automatic control, Measurement and Analysis, Information science sections. Many valuable presentations aroused interest in this conference, especially those such as “Data-Space Cross-Gradient Joint Inversion of Multiple Geophysical Data”, “Principles of Formation of Underground Transport Systems of Megacities”, “Gain-Phase Type Robust Control Theory”, “Real Time Object Detection from Infrared Image Using Ring Filter”, “Cooperative Industrial Partner Robot System for Handling Heavy Mechanical Parts in Assembly Lines”, “Determining Reasonable Correcting Planes for Balancing of Flexible Rotors”.
The Conference was closed in the Sci-tech complex on Sep. 20.
The international conference served as an important event for further developing scientific exchange and cooperation between universities, research institutions and organizations over the world.
During the conference Kim Chaek University of Technology threw a party to welcome participants to the international conference.
Also, participants visited Mangyongdae and several places in Pyongyang including International Friendship Exhibition House and KUT scientists’ residential area in Mirae Scientists’ Street.

National Departmental Scientific Symposium was held on Sep. 20 to 21 at Kim Chaek University of Technology in commemoration of the 70th Founding Anniversary of Kim Chaek University of Technology.

The symposium was held, divided into sections of ideology and theory, history, industrial and economic management, machine engineering, mechanics and fluid and aeronautical engineering, information processing, information security, computer system, geological prospecting, geological engineering, mining and extractive engineering, metal engineering, metal material, thermal engineering, shipbuilding engineering, electrical engineering, electronic element and electronic material, applied electronics, automation engineering, information communication, dynamics, basic mathematics, applied mathematics, applied physics, basic chemistry, applied chemistry, nano technology, critical science and foreign language, etc.
Presented here were over 1 000 papers of social and natural sciences from 70 universities and scientific research institutes including

In departmental symposiums of natural sciences, several papers of great value including “Influences of Solvent Polarization and Ion Size over Interrelation of Charged Electrodes in Nanometer Range in Electrolyte”, “Axle floor-type design and operation of the high-speed rolling heating furnace”, “Exploits in Developing Advanced Electrical Resistivity Tomography instrument” were highly appreciated.
The symposium was closed in the culture hall of the university on Sep. 21.
In the closing ceremony, documents of presentation and memorial collections of papers were presented to those on the high ranking, together with the prize. Twenty excellent units were awarded letters of commendations and cups.

The research team leaded by Sin Jae Yong, PhD and Prof, rector of IT College and other member teachers including Mun Chang Hyok and Jong Il Ryong opened a remarkable prospect for decisively improving the quality of medical curing and prevention work of our university's hospital by their energetic research work for making its medical service and management based on the IT.
They built clinical data warehouse for hispital information system for clinical decision support and real-time decision making, and developed a muti-demensional analysis system and a signature system of electronical medical information exchange system between medical organs.
Taking advantage of their successes they continue to introduce their new IT medical system into all the hospitals of the country on the international healthcare standard.
