It is 17 years all too soon since Chairman Kim Jong Il visited the up-to-date e-library and indoor stadium newly built at Kim Chaek University of Technology on January 4, Juche 95(2006). That day, the Chairman spent quite a long time looking around several rooms of the newly-built e-library including the e-reading rooms, server room and lecture rooms for on-line education. He was greatly satisfied with it, saying that it was a monumental edifice which deserved boasting of in the new century. Stressing the need to train a large number of useful sci-tech talents who are possessed of up-to-date science and technology and can play a large part in building a powerful socialist country, the Chairman reposed great trust in Kim Chaek University of Technology by calling it the pedigree for training scientific and technical talents and the pioneer of the IT industrial revolution. He said that sci-tech talents necessary for the IT industrial revolution including researchers and designers as well as managers and chief engineers of factories and enterprises, were being trained in this university, adding that he visited this university first early in January, now that its position and role in building a powerful socialist country is very important and he wanted to underline the need to train more useful sci-tech talents. Pioneers of the IT industrial revolution! Having received the instructions of the Chairman, all the teaching staff and students could hardly repress their surging emotion and the whole university was overflowing with a passion for repayment.

Another Brilliant Victory ― Great Victory in the An...

It is not easy to prevent the inroads of the malignant virus, which has been threatening the existence of the mankind throughout the world. No country in the world has successfully exterminated the novel coronavirus that made inroads into their territories even after three years since the outbreak of the malignant epidemic crisis. This fact clearly shows how severe the war against the malignant virus is. Our country prevented the inroads of the malignant virus for two years and three months to hit a new record in the history of the world anti-epidemic work despite the global health crisis, and curbed in such a short period the violent spread of the virus prevalent in the country, thus restoring stability in the anti-epidemic work and making the whole country a clean, virus-free zone. This is a miracle noteworthy in the world's healthcare history. The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un convened the 8th Political Bureau meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) in May, Juche 111(2022), when the malignant virus made inroads into our country, and put forward appropriate and detailed anti-epidemic guidelines to switch over from the state epidemic prevention system to the maximum emergency epidemic prevention system, to stably contain and control the spread of COVID-19 by pushing forward in parallel the efforts for blockade and stamping out, and to quickly cure the infections in order to eradicate the source of the virus spread at an early date. The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un provided a decisive guarantee for minimizing the damage by the virus by adopting strong state measures of producing and supplying medicines and timely steps to conduct medical treatment on a full scale. Acquainting himself with the supply of medicines, especially the fact that inhabitants had problems with treatment because medicines were not supplied according to demand to the pharmacies in the capital city even after the state measures to urgently release and supply reserve medicines were taken according to the decision of the 8th Political Bureau meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the WPK, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un issued a special order of the WPK Central Military Commission on immediately stabilizing the supply of medicines in Pyongyang City by involving the powerful forces of the military medical field of the People's Army in the consultative meeting of Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK held on May 15, and took every measure to improve the supply of medicines in later major Party meetings. The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un aroused the entire Party, the whole country and all the people to the campaign to reverse the anti-epidemic situation, thus making the campaign an all-people resistance. He also took revolutionary measures to establish the work system of the Party and state in emergency, which provided decisive conditions for hastening the victory in the anti-epidemic campaign. With a death-defying will to defend without fail our people, part of his flesh and blood, at the cost of his life, he was on the forefront of the campaign. In the consultative meeting of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK convened on May 14, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un noted that it was high time for our Party Central Committee to prove its leading role once again before the difficulties of history, saying that it was urgent for us to more deeply realize for what we are needed and for whom we fight at the cost of our lives and that our Party would bravely discharge its important responsibility and duty and take full responsibility for the security and wellbeing of the country and people by displaying boundless loyalty and devotion, and expressed his determination and will to win a great victory in the epidemic prevention campaign without fail. On May 15, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un visited Mannyon Pharmacy and Jangsaeng Pharmacy in Taedonggang District, Pyongyang City, to acquaint himself with the supply of medicines in the capital city. Even though the pharmacies were extremely dangerous places as they were visited by a great number of fevered persons every day and the saleswomen had just recovered from the epidemic, he unhesitatingly entered them to learn in detail about the administration and to give precious teachings on the supply and sales of medicines. The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un rescued our people from the threat of the virulent disease with warm love and affection. Saying in the consultative meeting of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK held on May 14, Juche 111(2022) that he was donating reserve medicines prepared by his family to the Party committee of the office building with an earnest prayer that peace and laugh would settle again in all families across the country at an early date, he suggested to the Party committee sending the medicines to families in difficulty. A month later, on June 15, he sent medicines prepared by his family to the Haeju City Committee, South Hwanghae Province, of the Workers' Party of Korea as regards the outbreak of an acute enteric epidemic in Haeju City of South Hwanghae Province. His passionate love and affection for the people was the main source of making the whole country overflow with the communist virtues and beautiful traits and further stoking up the spirit of all-people resistance and all-people involvement. Thanks to the love for the people of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, who relieves our people of all sorts of pains with warm love and affection, our country could achieve a victory in the anti-epidemic war at last by dint of the collectivist spirit of one for all and all for one and the tenderness and human feeling of sharing sorrow and caring for one another more, the harder the times are.

2022, Year of Victory of Virtues and Beautiful Trai...

This year, virtues and traits unique to our society were given fuller display than ever before. 2022 is the year embroidered with virtues and beautiful traits of valuing, taking care of and helping one another. Since its founding, our state has successfully coped with all kinds of hardships, but it is the very first time to face such a dangerous situation where tens of millions of lives were directly threatened by the inroads of the malignant virus and the rhythm of normal work and life were destroyed. At the beginning of the activation of the maximum emergency anti-epidemic system, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said that the virtues and feelings of helping and taking care of each other which prevails our society in any difficulties are the key to and guarantee for the great victory in the epidemic prevention campaign which is more powerful than any latest medical technologies, calling upon all the Party organizations to scrupulously conduct the organizational and political work so that our best communist virtue and beautiful traits, which no one on earth can possess or imitate, are given fuller display in the present difficult and rigorous epidemic prevention campaign. The victory in the anti-epidemic campaign we achieved this year is never a fruition of our conditions and foundations better than others. The tenderness and human feelings such as the beautiful deeds of the employees and officials of some factories who worked day and night to provide medicines and foodstuffs to those suffering from the malignant epidemic, the people who unsparingly spent their family property to prepare goods necessary for those in hostels, students' dormitories, orphanages and baby homes, and those who selflessly shared food grains, subsidiary foodstuffs and daily necessities with the needy families and neighbours were elixirs of life. Thinking of comrades, neighbours and the collective before oneself and devoting one's all for them despite one's own hunger – even unthinkable without this world of beautiful virtues and traits is a miraculous victory to be specially recorded in the world health history. At this time, too, many countries suffer from the inroads and spread of the malignant virus. The reality clearly demonstrates the superiority and might of our state where the whole country moves as one united in one mind and one will behind the Party and government and tenderness and human feeling based on collectivism are a national trait. This year our people gave a fuller play to virtues and traits of dedicating their all unsparingly to the sake of the society and the collective. The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un settled the production and supply of school uniforms and things at the state’s expense as a consistent policy of the Party and state, saying that he would be relieved of a great anxiety when all our students wear new uniforms. Impressed by his love for the younger generation, the officials and working people in many institutions and units, and inhabitants took an active part in the support to the production units of school uniforms and bags. This year, beautiful deeds of respecting and supporting war veterans and honoured disabled ex-soldiers as precious revolutionary forerunners and comrades were more fully displayed, too. Along with the increase in beautiful deeds of taking care of them with all sincerity like their own sons and daughters, the spirit of defending the country of the 1950s is being passed down to the younger generations and the war veterans keep the flower of the revolution in bloom. This year has proved once again that the virtues and traits of our society that come in fuller bloom in manifold trials and hardships rather than being destroyed or perished are the eternal life-giving water of the large socialist family and the immortal true picture of Juche Korea that no one can create or imitate.

Spring Water the Chairman Tasted in Person

One day in January, Juche 100(2011), Chairman Kim Jong Il paid a visit to the Ryongaksan Spring Water Factory situated at the foot of picturesque Mt. Ryongak. Looking attentively at the analysis table with the officials’ explanations, the Chairman was very satisfied with the fact that Ryongaksan spring water has the right amount of selenium and fluorine beneficial to health, whereas other world-famous do not. Presently, the Chairman looked around the production line. He tasted in person the spring water produced there to estimate the quality. The officials were deeply moved. They experienced once again his passionate love for the people when the Chairman even bothered to taste water for promoting the people’s health in the teeth of the intense cold. After a while, the Chairman appreciated the taste of the water, highly praising the scientists and the officials and workers of the factory for discovering the sources of a large quantity of water of a high quality in the place which had been called Wollo-ri (literally meaning many macrobians thanks to its quality water from olden times), and for setting up the modern factory to supply the citizens of the capital with processed spring water.

On the First Sunday in December

On the first Sunday in December when the year Juche 100(2011) was coming to an end, Chairman Kim Jong Il inspected the Amusement Park of Kaeson Youth Park built for cultural recreation of the people. Going round the different places of the amusement park built in line with a modern taste, he learnt in detail about the management and operation. Then, he told the accompanying officials to try the machines in order to check on the operation. When they were thrilled that the rotary machines going sharply up and down swept their fatigue away, the Chairman carried a broad smile on his face as if he was hearing the happy laughter of the people. That day, he gave precious instructions on the issues of supplying the service facilities in the amusement park with enough raw materials for their effective operation and of scrupulously managing and operating the amusement park so that people would enjoy themselves without feeling any slight inconvenience.

Ultimate People-oriented Constitution

The socialist constitution of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea is the ultimate people-oriented one for workers, farmers, soldiers and intellectuals. One day in March, Juche 62(1973), a leading official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received a phone call from President Kim Il Sung. Talking about offering our socialist constitution to other countries for reference, the President acknowledged that the socialist constitution was well-established. Then, the President informed him that it was being studied even at a university in a capitalist country. The following fact shows what great sensations our socialist constitution caused throughout the world. In a forum on our socialist constitution that was held at the proposition of the personages of the political parties and women organizations in a hostile country, a lady figure was unsparing in her praise. She said, “The socialist constitution of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea is very specific in the description of every detail, and unlike those of other countries, it enables the working masses to take part in the socialist construction with attitude of masters. In every chapter and every article of this superior constitution are fully embodied the Juche philosophy of President Kim Il Sung, who clarified that man is the master of everything.” However, nobody in the world including her is aware of the emotional story that our President gave detailed instructions even on a single provision and a single expression of the draft constitution of over 100 provisions to make it people-oriented.
