Priority to Interests of People

Chairman Kim Jong Il paid a visit to ready-to-open Kwangbok Area Supermarket on one freezing day in December, Juche 100 (2011). Being briefed by the official concerned, he looked round the departments on the first floor. Learning about the sanitary goods produced by a unit, he instructed that those good quality goods should be sold to our people. And when he reached the furniture department, he talked about a piece of furniture he had seen before, stressing the need to set up that furniture-making equipment since the supermarket was built in the Kwangbok area. Indeed, every step of his field-guidance showed the noble idea of the Chairman, who thought only about the happiness of people whenever he came across anything. That day he checked every aspect in relation to the management of the store such as the time of its opening, the prices of goods, the possibility of constant goods supply, etc. He stressed that the store could prove useful only when it was opened as soon as possible so that people would be free to purchase what they want. He taught that the essence of socialist commerce lies in the fact that all activities should be conducted for people from start to finish.

Declaration to Open Personally

Patriotism is boundless devotion and commitment for the country and the people. It was the last day of Juche 100 (2011) when tears of blood over the sudden demise of Chairman Kim Jong Il were overwhelming across the country. On the day, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un sitting with some officials solemnly declared that he would open the door to the dawn of Korea from then on instead of Chairman Kim Jong Il, who used to suffer all sorts of difficulties for the country and the people throughout his life, greeting the dawn of the country before anybody else after working until three or four at dawn. The officials were deeply impressed by his iron-willed declaration to turn our socialist country into the best one envied by the world true to the intentions of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il at the cost of devoting his all.

Nothing More to Wish for

The Jungphyong Greenhouse Farm wonderfully built on the eastern coast of the northern end is associated with ardent love for the people of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un. It was December 3, Juche 108 (2019). So pleased at the start-up of a greenhouse farm that would produce various kinds of vegetables for our people in large quantities in all seasons, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un came to the farm non-stop, regardless of the cold weather of midwinter. Looking round the farm with a broad smile on his face as if he forgot the pains he had taken to personally appoint the site on the spot and to solve all the problems arising in the construction from its design to materials supply, he said that although there are places near and far geographically, there are no people far away in his mind, adding that he had nothing more to wish for if the farm would contribute to the improvement of dietary life of the people in North Hamgyong Province. When the people heard about his instructions associated with warm affection for the people, they expressed their emotions from the bottom of their hearts. The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un is indeed the father of people that embraces and takes warm care of the whole country with his warm love and affection.

First Deputy Nominated by People

It was when a democratic election was first held in our country. As the historic election day was approaching, nomination of candidates for deputies to the provincial, city and county people's committees was in progress in every election district. At that time, in the mass rally held in Samdung myon (in those days), Kangdong County, President Kim Il Sung was nominated as a candidate for deputy to the South Phyongan Province People’s Committee. So, two delegates came to Pyongyang in order to report the news. When they met President Kim Il Sung, one of them, deeply impressed by the personality of the boundlessly benevolent President, told him without any hesitation that every person in Samdung myon including the old wanted to come to visit him. The President replied he would really appreciate their willingness to visit him, as it was natural for him to be the first to visit the elderly people, and that he would meet them before anything else when they bothered to visit him. That is how about 10 of elderly people, workers, farmers and students, on behalf of the people in Samdung myon, enjoyed the honorable privilege of meeting President Kim Il Sung the next day. On the day President Kim Il Sung with a broad smile on his face promised to work with devotion, always mindful of their trusts and expectations. Our people’s belief in and respect for President Kim Il Sung were clearly demonstrated in the first democratic election.

First Criterion

Political independence is the first criterion of an independent and sovereign state. President Kim Il Sung, on the start line of building a new country, set forth an original line for defending and realizing the basic interests of our people and the sovereignty of our country and nation. Sitting together with some military and political cadres on August 20, Juche 34 (1945), President Kim Il Sung said that we should continue to advance the Korean revolution on the basis of the victory already achieved and that we should build a prosperous and independent sovereign state with our own efforts. Then, he set forth a clear immediate task for realizing the cause of building a party, a state and an army, the real guarantee of an independent and sovereign state, by our own efforts in keeping with the demands of our people without delay. As President Kim Il Sung set forth the line of building a new country to defend the fundamental interests of our people on the untrodden road of state building and led our country along the road of independence, the people-centered socialism of our own style could be built on this land.

Exceptional Benevolence

In March, Juche 101(2012), the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un paid a visit to Cho Island. After the photo session with the soldiers, he looked around different places of the island to show warm care of their life. Still not satisfied with his affection for the soldiers, he was moving his thoughtful steps when he told the commanding officers that he would send State Merited Chorus to the island. They could hardly believe their ears at that moment. They were totally gripped by ineffable feelings because it was beyond their imagination that such a large-scale performance should be arranged just for the soldiers on the island quite a long way from the land. Having learnt how many times of its performance in the soldiers’ hall would be sufficient for all the soldiers, service persons’ families and staff, he took necessary measures for the arrangement of the performance of State Merited Chorus.
